I came to Animas from Miller Middle School, though shortly prior to my transfer to Animas I attended DHS. The staff seemed unmotivated, and the school reminded me all too much of my time at Miller Middle. When I arrived at Animas, I felt the opposite. The teachers are involved, motivated, and reach out to you when you miss a day or an assignment. Students also have a lot to say in how the school runs which I think is great. I also prefer the project based learning over the public school model. This model of learning gets you more involved with your work, and really builds connection to other students and staff. I love the small school environment, since it adds to the school spirit and culture when everyone knows everyone. Personally I'm a visual learner, and I feel that the teachers are able to incorporate this style into their their classes.
